Social Influence

To what extent are you socially influenced?.............

Compliance- Publicly conforming to the behaviour or views of others but privately maintaining one's own views.
Identification- Adopting the views or behaviour of a group both publicly and privately because they value being a member of the group.
Internalisation- A true change of private views to match those of the group. The new attitudes and behaviours become part of one's value system and are not dependent on the presence of the group.


Normative social influence- Desire to be liked. COMPLIANCE
Influential  social influence- Desire to be right. INTERNALISATION.
